In February 2020, new amendments to the Bulgarian Consumer
Protection law entered into force. Considering the rising importance of the
topic, DGKV team prepared a Newsletter with updates on the new provisions.
The main changes relate to division between powers of
regulators with clear approach in defining the roles of government regulators
in different sectors and the Consumer Protection Commission (“CPC”) being the
sole “one stop shop” authority
responsible for coordination of Member States policies. Additionally, new
regime of sanctions has been introduced.
