Citigroup Interested in Bulgarian Infrastructure Projects

Citigroup has shown interest in financing the construction of Bulgaria's second nuclear power plant Belene and the big infrastructure projects in the country, emerged at the talks of Bulgaria's Finance Minister Plamen Oresharski with Citigroup  representatives in Singapore within the annual meeting of IMF. The Swiss banking group, UBS has also taken interest in the infrastructure in Bulgaria. Oresharski also talked to Michael Deppler, the IMF Europe Department Director. Despite the considerable growth of the GDP and the foreign investments, the IMF insists on quite a surplus in Bulgaria's 2007 budget.
