French utility company Dalkia Wednesday said is interested in the privatisation of the Sofia district heating company.
The company is already involved in the sell-off procedures for the heating utilities in Plovdiv and Ruse.
Dalkia applied for the position of manager at the Sofia utility 5 years ago and made the candidate shortlist but that procedure was never completed.
The French company said it is aiming for a position of a long-term investor in Bulgaria. The problems facing Bulgaria's heating system come from the climate which is colder than other parts of EUR pe and from the transmission losses, said Dalkia.
According to the French company, power transmission and production should be managed separately.
