Bulgaria’s Health Ministry will privatise 20 pct of the hospitals and will thus move further the reform in the healthcare sector, which stopped four years ago. The ministry will propose legislative amendments that will protect hospitals during the sell-off. The outstanding debts of Bulgarian hospitals totalled BGN 150 mln ($91.2 mln/ EUR 76.7 mln) in February 2006.
