DANUBE BRIDGE 2

Three consortiums and one individual candidate filed bids on October 2 for building a Danube bridge between the Bulgarian city of Vidin and Romania’s Calafat. The Spanish company FCC Contruccion filed the cheapest offer of 100 million euro, followed by the German-French consortium of Zublin and Eiffel with 58.3 million euro, consortium of Bouygues Travaux Publics (France), Transtroi Varna (Bulgaria), Rizzani De Eccher (Italy) with 183.1 million euro, and consortium of Vinci (France), Glavbolgarstroy (Bulgaria) and Moststroy (Bulgaria) with 268.2 million euro. The total cost of the project is provisionally estimated at 236 million euro.
