DGKV advised PPF on the acquisition of Central European Media Enterprises

DGKV advised the private investment group PPF a.s. on the acquisition of the Bulgarian assets of the Nasdaq-and Prague-listed media group Central European Media Enterprises (CME), whereby the global deal value amount to USD 2.1 billion.

The acquisition has been unanimously approved by CME’s board of directors, upon the recommendation of a special committee of the board.

CME’s largest shareholder, the US media giant AT&T, has agreed to vote in favour of the transaction.

PPF Group invests in multiple market segments including financial services, telecommunications, biotechnology, real estate and mechanical engineering.

CME operates a total of 6 television channels (bTV, bTV Cinema, bTV Comedy, bTV Action, bTV Lady and Ring) and 5 radio stations (bTV Radio, Radio NJoy, Radio Z Rock, Classic FM and Jazz FM) in Bulgaria.
