In February 2020, new amendments to the Bulgarian Consumer Protection law entered into force. Considering the rising importance of the topic, DGKV team prepared a Newsletter with updates on the new provisions.
The main changes relate to division between powers of regulators with clear approach in defining the roles of government regulators in different sectors and the Consumer Protection Commission (“CPC”) being the sole “one stop shop” authority responsible for coordination of Member States policies. Additionally, new regime of sanctions has been introduced.
