As a result from DGKV’s decision to form a Task Force to help with legal issues that came out of the COVID-19 spread, our Competition team has prepared an Information Note. It addresses the Bulgarian Competition law in state of emergency situation which was enforced on March 13th, 2020.

 

The document states that this situation does not override the rules of competition law. The conduct of undertakings must continue to be in conformity with competition law and any violation of the prohibition on unfair competition, abuse of a dominant position, abuse of a stronger bargaining power or any agreements between undertakings or concerted practices which have the purpose or the effect of preventing, restricting or distorting competition, irrespective of the state of emergency, will result in the imposition of a pecuniary sanction by the Commission for the Protection of Competition.
