Foreign investors exempt from social security taxes
Foreign investors will be exempt from the obligation to pay social security taxes for their Bulgarian employees for a period of 3 years. This has been announced and confirmed both by the Bulgarian President Plevneliev and the Economy Minister Delyan Dobrev in various investment roadshows and meetings. Both officials stated Bulgaria is committed to attracting foreign investments by providing a unique investor climate and numerous benefits. The government is now working on a new law in the field expected to be adopted in 2013. It provides for fast-track administrative service, grants for staff training, and stipulates that the state would cover the social security payments for employees of large-scale investors for two years.
