DGKV’s associate Evgeny Minchev held a lecture on EU law at Jessup international symposium that took place on February 12th, 2020 in Florianopolis, Brazil. The event was part of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition 2020 which is the biggest legal contest. Evgeny also served as judge at the Brazilian final rounds.
The first-ever congress on International Law in Florianopolis was held by the Organization of Attorneys in Brazil and covered topics such as the role of diplomatic protection, trade disputes and foreign investment of the World Trade Organization.
Evgeny held lecture on “Judicial cooperation in the EU”, with a particular focus on competition law and insolvency proceedings in Portuguese. He Judged at the Brazilian National Rounds of Jessup for the third time, including at the Championship round thereof for a second consecutive year. The case involved matters pertaining to international trade law, diplomatic protection, human rights and humanitarian law and competing jurisdiction between the International Court of Justice and other international tribunals.
