The German-owned retail chain Kaufland is planning to invest more than EUR 50mn for building a storehouse in the village of Stryama , about 150 kilometres from the capital city of Sofia . The project would be completed in 6 months. Kaufland opened this week its 19 th store in the southern city of Pazardzhik . The hypermarket is located on 5,000 square metres of total built-up area and costs EUR 10mn. Kaufland is working on three other units in Burgas, Stara Zagora , and Kiustendil. A year ago, the German company announced plans to expand the number of retail stores to 40 in five years, covering 20 cities in the country. Its long-term investment plan is estimated at EUR 300mn.
