The Greece-registered company NEKO, majority owned by the Bulgarian state power operator NEC, is planning to install 36 wind-power generators with total capacity of 72 MW. The investment in the project is estimated at EUR 350mn. The National Bank of Greece has already showed interest to take part in the financing. Separately, the local company Elika Bulgaria projects 118 generators with total capacity of 236MW. Both projects will be located near Krumovgrad in Southern Bulgaria and should start operations early next year. Both companies have asked the state energy regulator to grant 15-year power production licences. The decision is expected next week.
