Parliament passed in first reading the proposal of the government for amendments in the commercial law to reduce the initial capital for registering a limited liability company from BGN 5,000 (EUR 2,556) at present to BGN 2. The draft envisages also abolishment of the requirement to pay up 35% of the capital at the time of registration. The aim of the decision is to improve the legislation for starting business and thus enhancing the economic activity and creating new jobs. According to the latest Doing Business report of the World Bank, Bulgaria is among the countries, in which the required initial capital for registering LLC is highest.
