The state road infrastructure agency signed 14 contracts valued at a total of BGN 216mn (EUR 110.4mn) for road rehabilitation projects under the country’s regional development operational programme. The funds will be allocated to the repair of 183 kilometres of second-class roads and 476 kilometres of third-class roads. A total of BGN 501mn under the regional operational programme may be allocated to such projects. The tenders for selection of construction companies are expected in near terms. Repair works are expected to start in March and to be completed by end-2011.
