The World Bank approved a EUR 81mn loan for water projects in the country. The credit has 7-year grace period and should be repaid in 19 years. The funds will finance the completion of the construction of three water dams, the rehabilitation of one dam, and preparation of plans for water-supply and sewage systems. The construction works should start by mid-2010. The project will secure water supply of good quality to more than 141,000 people in four municipalities. The loan was approved by the previous cabinet in May. It is the last from the partnership strategy with the country in the period 2006-2009 aiming to facilitate the country’s accession to the EU and the utilisation of the EU funds.
