The local subsidiary of AES Geo Energy and the Bulgarian-German company Geo Power received a first-class investment certificate for building a wind-power complex near the town of Kavarna , located on the northern Black Sea coast. The project is estimated at more than EUR 300mn against preliminary expectations for up to EUR 170mn. The complex would generate more than 450GWh energy and would save above 500,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year. AES of the US is one of the world largest energy companies with capacity to service 100mn customers. It runs activities in 28 countries and reports sales at USD 11.6bn last year. AES vies for building the fourth coal-fired power plant with production capacity of at least 600MW in Maritsa East complex.
