Agricultural producer BG Agro to go public

One of the country’s largest agricultural producers and exporters BG Agro is planning to launch shares accounting for up to 25% of its capital, Investor.bg reads. The public offering is expected to take place in Q1 next year. BG Agro includes local companies specialised in large-scale agriculture, distribution of fertilisers and crops protection preparations, trade, storage, and transportation of agricultural products. A shipping agency and an own port installation are among the assets of the group. BG Agro plans to expand the used arable area and to invest in new equipment in order to raise production. The company would rely also on financing from the EU funds. The revenues of BG Agro stood at BGN 19.7mn (EUR 10.1mn) last year against BGN 1.1mn in 2004.
