The real estate subsidiary of the local holding Alpha Finance, Alpha Developments, is about to take over 75% of the portfolio of the Luxemburg-registered investment company Landmark. The price of the take over has not been revealed by now. Landmark runs 22 real estate projects in the country and one in Turkey and is interested in business properties mainly. At the end of the last year, the local firm Bridgecorp (controlled by the current management of Landmark) acquired Landmark for EUR 210mn. Iceland ’s billionaire Thor Bjorgolfsson controlled the main stake in Landmark. Alpha Finance Holding controls over 60 local companies from the finance, IT, media, manufacturing, advertisement, and real estate businesses with total assets estimated at EUR 500mn at present. Alpha Developments is planning expansion through acquisition of assets in the country and on the Balkans.
