Bidding for Ruse thermo-power, heating plant delayed again

The privatisation agency has extended the bidding deadline for the heating and thermo-power plant in the country's fifth largest city of Ruse by another week to Nov 17. A week earlier the deadline has been moved from Nov 3 to Nov 10 on request of bidders. The agency has certified four companies to submit binding bids for the full stake in the 41MW plant -- the Czech Electricity Company (CEZ), Dalkia International (France), E.ON ( Germany ), and Holding Slovenske Elektrarne ( Slovenia ). Dalkia has already won the tender for the heating utility in the country's third largest city of Varna while CEZ and E.ON hold majority stakes in the western and the north-eastern electricity distribution groups, respectively. CEZ has also acquired the thermo-power plant in Varna at the price of EUR 207mn paid in early October.
