The country’s major landline telecom BTC will provide access to its broadband Internet network to seven retail operators, including five alternative landline telecoms -- Orbitel, Spectre Net, Nexcom Bulgaria, Net Is Sat, and Evolink (Lirex Net) – as well as the cell-phone operators vivatel (owned by BTC) and GloBul. Alternative operators hold about 5% of the wireline telecommunications business in the country at present. Nexcom, Orbitel and Spectre Net control about 90% of the alternative segment, according to estimates of Nexcom.
