CableTel to invest EUR 20mn in infrastructure development

The country's largest cable TV provider CableTel, recently acquired by the UK investment company Ramford Alliance, has announced plans to invest EUR 20mn in infrastructure development in two years, Investor.bg informs. Two months ago CableTel took over the local cable TV operator Estnet, previously traded as Eurotour Sat TV. This has raised CableTel market share to 68% from the announced 12% as of June last year, which corresponds to servicing of almost 1mn households, according to company’s estimates. The TV provider plans further expansion both on domestic and foreign markets, including Macedonia , Serbia and Turkey . Last year CableTel was planning to launch green-filed investments in Azerbaijan in co-operation with Turkey ’s GENAY, hoping to capture 35-40% of the households in the Caspian country over a period of 2-3 years. The TV provider was also looking for expansion in Kazakhstan and Albania , and neighbouring Macedonia and Turkey .
