Chimimport acquires two agricultural firms.

 The country’s largest holding company Chimimport has acquired two agricultural companies – Bek International and Zarneni Hrani, Valchi Dol – for a total of BGN 32.1mn (EUR 16.4mn). The grain business of the holding includes 6 other companies and will be consolidated into a single entity by the end of the year. It holdings owns storage facilities with capacity of 1mn tons of grain, which accounts for about 33% of the country’s harvest reported for last year. Chimimport is currently operating a capital hike from BGN 130mn to BGN 150mn that will secure fresh financial inflows of BGN 220mn at the set issuance price for new shares. The funds will be used for new acquisitions and purchase of shares from the planned public offering of Central Cooperative Bank, which is also owned by the holding.
