The locally registered investment company Rila Samokov 2004 opens today construction works for the first rope line of 10 kilometres under the large-scale ski project Super Borovets. The whole project is structured in two stages, the first of which is valued at EUR 650mn and should be completed in two years. Super Borovets will include residential apartments and hotels with built-up area of 500,000 square metres, new ski runs with total length of 40 kilometres. The plan of the investor is to expand the existing resort Borovets into the country’s largest skiing and sports complex. Another local entity Borovets Invest, controlled by the private equity firm Equest, owns 67% of Rila Samokov 2004. The other shares are held by the municipality of Samokov (25%) and the local construction firm Glavbolgarstroy (8%). It includes infrastructure construction mainly.
