We shall disccuss with our guests the most vulnerable to corruption areas in the economic life of Bulgaria, the specific risks faced by economic operators and the measures that could be taken to limit and manage these risks. We shall talk about the legislative and law enforcement measures aimed at curbing and fighting corruption. Special attention shall be paid to the anti-corruption legislation with extraterritorial action, including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. We shall discuss the scope and application of this legislation by US law enforcement authorities in connection with corruption committed on foreign territories, including in Bulgaria.

Our special guests shall be Thomas Firestone, a Washington-based partner at the global law firm Baker & McKenzie, and Tihomir Bezlov, a well-known senior analyst at the Center for the Study of Democracy.

The discussed topics shall be of interest primarily to lawyers and compliance officers.
