DGKV advised on the two biggest M&A deals in 2012 on the Bulgarian market

We are proud to announce that Djingov, Gouginski, Kyutchukov & Velichkov advised on what DealWatch lists to be the two biggest M&A deals in 2012 concerning the Bulgarian market: the acquisition of Actavis Group by Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc. with deal value of USD 5,612.55 mln, where our law firm counseled on the acquisition of the Bulgarian subsidiary; and the acquisition of Starbev Holdings by Molson Coors Brewing Company with deal value of USD 3,540.00 mln.

We were also part of a few notable transactions on the Bulgarian market, listed by Dealwatch among the biggest M&As in the country for 2012, some of which are: the acquisition of Kamor Auto by Sofia France Auto; the acquisition of a 4.3 MW solar park in Targovishte by Conetwork GmbH; the acquisition of Wind Park Kavarna East by Raiffeisen Energy & Environment (USD 65,4 mln); the acquisition of a minority stake in CallPoint New Europe AD by Telus International; the acquisition of multiple petrol stations by NIS Petrol, a Gazpromneft subsidiary; the indirect acquisition of Radisson Blu landmark hotel by Global Management Corporation (USD 12,5 mln).

We were delighted that in recognition of the hard work of our team, for yet another year in a row, in 2012 we were ranked as top tier by the prestigious legal editions Chambers, Legal 500 and IFLR, who describe us as “a genuine credible quality law firm”, with “superb all-round reputation” which “offers really good value for money” and “provides the same quality as the international firms”. We were awarded the Acquisition International 2012 legal award Bulgarian Competition Law Firm of the Year as well as the Silver Award Best Central and Eastern Europe Law Firm 2012 of the 5th International Legal Alliance Summit & Awards 2012.

Remembering that corporate success goes hand in hand with corporate social responsibility, we managed to help the children at the St Ivan Rilski orphanage in the village of Razliv to celebrate a warmer Christmas and the I nas ni ima/We exist too Association to enjoy a nicer yard and garden in their daily center. We put some effort also in further enhancing our green office policy.

We look forward to the challenges of 2013, hope that it will be a successful one as well and wish the same to all our clients and partners!
