Electricity Company extends deadline for telecom grid tender

The National Electricity Company has extended the bidding deadline in the tender for signing a long-term partnership for upgrading and operating its fibre optic network by one month to December 15. The competition is organised in co-operation with the European Investment Bank. The National Electricity Company plans to expand its telecom grid to 2,200 kilometres from 700 kilometres at present. This will turn the company's fibre optic grid into the country's second largest one after the main landline telecom operator BTC.
