The local trader K&K Electronics, which controls the retail chain for consumer electronics and electric appliances Technomarket, has informed the state antitrust commission about its intentions to acquire the local business of its Romanian peer Domo, a note on the website of the competition watchdog reads. Technomarket operates around 30 retails stores in Bulgaria, 3 units in Serbia, and one in Macedonia. The retailer announced at the end of the last year that it would also enter the Romanian market. K&K Electronics and Domo are indirectly controlled by the private equity firm Equest. Domo is among the three largest retail chains for household appliances in Romania. It entered the Bulgarian market last year by opening 7 stores and would expand to 18 stores by the end of the year.
