The local power engineering and construction company Enemona in partnership with Mayr-Melnhof-Nikopol is planning to invest more than BGN 70mn (EUR 35.8) in construction of a 10MW biomass power plant in the Danube town of Nikopol. The plant will use residual materials from the agricultural sector. Construction works are expected to start next year. The facility would supply power to the future industrial zone of Nikopol and municipal buildings. The project would open 20 permanent and 80 seasonal jobs. Enemona has
commissioned the country’s first biomass power plant with capacity of 5MW in the ski resort of Bansko last year. The company plans a public offering by the end of this year or early next year and hopes to win big orders under the EUR 4bn project for building a 2,000 MW nuclear plant in Belene.The company posted a net consolidated profit of BGN 3.66mn in H1 against BGN 117,000 a year earlier.
