Enemona wins investment certificate for EUR 35.8mn energy project

The local energy company Enemona received yesterday a first-class investment certificate for a project for setting up a lignite coal search and exploration facility in the northern region of Lom near the Danube River . This is the first stage of a large-scale project, including also the construction of a thermo-power plant estimated at BGN 1.5bn to BGN 1.7bn. The economy and energy ministry selected Enemona in a tender wrapped up last month. The company plans to invest BGN 70mn EUR (35.8mn) in search activities, purchase of equipment, building infrastructure and in environment protection in the next three years. Enemona will finance investments through the IPO scheduled to take place on Nov 26. Enemona carries out construction and repair works in the three thermo-power plants in Maritsa East and hopes to win big orders under the EUR 4bn project for building a 2,000 MW nuclear plant in Belene. The net consolidated profit of Enemona surged above 6 times y/y to BGN 9.9mn in Jan-Sep while sales rose by some 80% y/y to BGN 60.8mn respectively.
