Fuel trade unit of Lukoil to acquire Opet Aygaz

The local fuel trade division of Russia ’s oil major Lukoil would reportedly bid for the fuels distribution network of Turkey 's Koc Holding in Bulgaria . The Turkish holding operates 17 stations in Bulgaria under the trade mark Opet Aygaz.. The market value of the fuel stations is seen at EUR 35mn. Opet Aygaz is a joint venture of the Turkish liquefied petroleum gas retailer Aygaz and fuel distributor Opet, both owned by Koc Holding. Lukoil Bulgaria runs a total of 180 fuel stations at present and plans to expand its retail network to about 300 units. It will invest USD 300mn until 2011 against earlier drafted USD 200mn. The fuel trader is striving to take the leading position in terms of retail sales from Petrol, which accounts for more than 25% of the sales at present. Lukoil occupies the second place with 16-18%, according to company’s estimates.
