Government approves new renewable energy draft law

The cabinet approved new renewable energy draft law in line with EU regulations for enhancing renewable energy consumption, a note on the website of the government informs. The act sets targets for raising the share of renewable energy in final consumption and transport to 16% and 10% respectively by 2020. The draft law envisages measures to stimulate renewable energy production and keeps the mechanism of buying renewable energy at preferential prices under long-term arrangements. The draft law will be submitted to the parliament for approval.
