Greek ship owners have declared interest in the privatisation of Navigation Maritime Bulgare (Navibulgar), it emerged from reports in Greek newspapers.
Greece's president, Karolos Papoulias and two Greek ministers, who are on a visit to Bulgaria, have made Bulgarian prime minister Sergey Stanishev familiar with the intentions of the candidates.
As the Pari daily wrote, Greek companies have had a long-standing interest in the privatisation of Navibulgar and Bulgarian shipyards. Greece's Tsakos even established a Bulgarian subsidiary to participate in the procedure for the privatisation of the Varna shipyard in 2003.
