Lena Borislavova, Associate the law firm’s M&A Practice Group, was a speaker at the “Foreign Investment & Investment in Real Estate” Conference. The joint event was organised by the International Association of Lawyers (UIA - Union Internationale des Avocats) in collaboration with the Supreme Bar Council and the Sofia Bar Council and was held on April 12th 2019 in Sofia, Bulgaria. It brought together leading lawyers and highly experienced M&A practitioners to explore current trends in cross-border mergers and acquisitions and investments in real estate.
Together with fellow practitioners from internationally recognized law firms and judges from the Supreme Court of Cassation, Lena presented the legal protection of investments within the European Union and shared her experience about the incentives and problems investors encounter and the way they deal with the problems. She made a comparative analysis of the case law of the European Union and presented the EU approach to investor-to State disputes and protection of investments.
