Investment fund CSIF earmarks EUR 500mn for energy, real estate projects

The local investment fund CSIF plans to invest about EUR 500mn in renewable energy, manufacturing, financial and real estate services in five years. The bulk of the financing would be channelled to energy projects. CSIF, which controls assets worth some EUR 110mn at present, would take part in the biomass project of the Spanish Ferry Group, the construction of three wind parks near the northern Black Sea city of Kavarna , the set-up of banking complex in the capital city Sofia , and several retail trade parks. The fund is almost fully owned by Tsvetelina Borislavova. She also controls 22.3% in the country’s 9 th largest Economic and Investment Bank with the option to sell the stake to the majority owner KBC.
