Violetta Kunze, Partner and Head the law firm’s Telecom and Media Practice, was entrusted to moderate a special panel dedicated to privacy and data protection at the 28th Annual IBA Communications and Competition Conference. Organised by the International Bar Association’s Communications Law Committee and Antitrust Committee, supported by its European Regional Forum, the event shall bring together leading lawyers and communications experts to explore current trends and debate the hottest issues in communications and competition law.
The “Where is the bottleneck? Network, device, content or data? Privacy issues” panel shall discuss the role of privacy in the digital communications era and how it may affect the competition. Together with Violetta, Munesh Mahtani, Senior Competition Counsel at Google, shall examine how data may become a source of market power and could distort competition. The prominent speakers’ list on this topic includes Wolfgang Kopf (Deutsche Telekom), Geoffrey A Manne (International Center for Law & Economics), Prof. Lokke Moerel (Morrison & Foerster), and Jyn Schultze-Melling (Ernest & Young).
