Regional ministry to sell out 5 construction firms

The regional ministry is planning to sell out five construction enterprises, minority stakes for two of which – Techoexportstroy and Automagistrali – would be offered for trade on the local stock exchange before launching tenders. Technoexportstroy and Automagistrali hold respectively 24% and 25% stakes of the Bulgarian – Portuguese consortium, designated for taking over the 35-year concession contract for the 443-kilometre Trakia Motorway connecting the capital city Sofia with the southern Black Sea city of Burgas. Investment requirements are valued at EUR 590mn at an average cost of EUR 2.7mn per kilometre of newly build motorway sections. The two companies control the same stakes in the special purpose vehicle expected to apply for the concession of the Hemus Motorway. Investments in the 450-kilometre Hemus Motorway, connecting Sofia in the western part of the country with the north-eastern Black Sea city of Varna, are estimated at around EUR 1bn. The other companies to be offered for sale are: Montazhi, Metal Constructions Holding, and Promishleno Stroitelstvo Holding.
