Rudolf Jelinek acquires Troyan spirits maker

The Czech distillery Rudolf Jelinek acquired a majority stake in the local brandy producer Vinprom Troyan yesterday, reads a press release of the acquirer. This is the second takeover of Rudolf Jelinek in the country. In August 2006, the Czech distillery took control of the fruit spirits maker Destila in Teteven. Vinprom Troyan is based in the northern town of Troyan and is well established brand on the local market for production of plum brandy. It has an annual production capacity of nearly 1,000 tonnes of spirits and 70% of the output is exported to the EU countries and the US .
