Six companies to export electricity in October.

The subsidiary of the National Electricity Company (NEC), Electricity System Operator (ESO), announced that it has chosen 6 companies to transport electricity to and from Greece, Serbia and Romania in October. EFT Bulgaria and CEZ Trade will transport electricity from Romania to Bulgaria. CEZ Trade and NEC will cover the opposite direction but also will export power to Serbia. NEC, Vivid Power, Arcadia Services and Enemona Utilities are allowed to trade with electricity on the border with Greece, which is considered to be the most attractive destination as prices are higher. ESO announced that power capacities of 500MW may be contracted for exports in October but finally it distributed only 400MW between the six companies. More than 80% of export quota is won by NEC. ESO is expected to call weekly tenders for the undistributed capacity.
