The country's largest telecom services provider BTC, traded as Vivacom plans to spend BGN 600mn on investments and development of high-speed optical network coverage of over one million households throughout the country by 2014, a note on the telecom’s website informs. Vivavom expects that some 90 thousands of households in the capital city of Sofia will have access to the optical network by the end of the year and projects full coverage by the beginning of 2012. As recalled, the net profit of the provider plunged by 69.1% y/y to BGN 10.7mn (EUR 5.46mn) in Q1 , according to the company's consolidated report.
