WE2 to build 32.5MW windfarm in Dobrich region

The German windpower company WE2 and its local subsidiary Wind Park Stanata received a top certificate from the state investment agency for building a 32.5MW windfarm near Odartsi village in the north-western region of Dobrich. The company will invest EUR 38.2mn in commissioning 13 wind-power generators and will consider further expansion of the windfarm at a later stage that could bring the total investment to more than EUR 100mn. The German parent company will provide 25% of the financing while the remaining 75% will come from creditors. The financing will be utilised by the end of next year. WE2 is part of the Bremen-headquartered holding WPD, which has participated in windpower projects with total installed capacity of 900MW.

This is the third top investment certificate awarded to a local project. In June last year, Japan 's Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and its local partner Inos 1 were acknowledged for a EUR 47mn project for building wind-power generators in the Black Sea district of Kavarna. The investor plans to build 33 power units with total capacity of 33MW. Construction works should be completed in early 2008. In February last year, the local company Ecosource Energy received a first-class certificate for a EUR 80mn wind-power plant on the hill of Murgash in the western parts of the Balkan Mountains . The company plans to install 44 wind-power generators with power capacities of MW 2.3 each and total capacity of some MW 100.
