DGKV, represented by its dispute resolution partners Gergana Monovska, Anton Krastev and Valentin Bojilov, hosted Workshop 3 of the ICC Advanced Arbitration Academy for CEE, focused on Jurisdiction of the Tribunal, on invitation of the ICC International Court of Arbitration. The event was held on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at the InterContinental Hotel, Sofia.
The event started with welcoming remarks from DGKV's partners Gergana Monovska, Partner at Dispute Resolution, Capital Markets and Banking & Finance practice groups, and Anton Krustev, Partner at Dispute Resolution, Public Procurement & EU Funding, Projects, PPP & PFI, Energy and Infrastructure practice groups.
The co-chairs and moderators of the event were Beata Gessel-Kalinowska vel Kalisz, Founding and Senior Partner at GESSEL, Galina Zukova, Founding Partner, ZUKOVA Legal, and Associate Professor at the University of Versailles (Paris - Saclay) and the Riga Graduate School of Law, and Niuscha Bassiri, Partner, Hanotiau & van den Berg.

The participants reported on a variety of arbitration related topics including arbitration agreements, pre-arbitration procedure, FIDIC contracts, ICC prima facie decision on jurisdiction procedure, interim/partial award on jurisdiction, etc.
The ICC Advanced Arbitration Academies are advanced-level training on arbitration designed primarily for senior and upper-mid-level arbitration practitioners who are interested in pursuing a career as an arbitrator. The cohort of ICC Advanced Arbitration Academy for Eastern Europe includes 40 arbitration professionals from 16 countries who will meet in 8 workshops throughout the year.
The event ended with a cocktail hosted by DGKV at InterContinental Hotel.
