About me

Dian Iliev

Dian Iliev is an Associate at DGKV, mainly involved in the law firm’s Real Estate & Construction, Dispute Resolution and Public Procurement & EU Funding Practices. Dian joined DGKV as a trainee in 2021 during his studies to obtain a Master’s Degree in Law from the Sofia University and has worked on a diverse range of legal matters, including real estate, construction, financing, and corporate transactions, as well as procurement and project work. Driven by his belief that societal advancement is the responsibility of each individual citizen, Dian is a co-founder and a member of the management board of the ‘Denislav Todorov’ Foundation, dedicated to fostering, encouraging, and supporting the development and exposure of talented young individuals in music and arts in Bulgaria, and also a member of the ‘Academy for Civic Education’ project, aiming to bring education in the field of law to the general public.

Recent representative projects:

  • Advising the European Parliament on the convocation of condominium general meetings in the ‘House of Europe’ building in Sofia, as well as assistance with the preparation and execution of condominium-related contracts and documents on an on-going basis, incl. contracts with third parties, management contracts, internal reports, rules of internal order and procedure, and others;
  • Advised SOF Connect AD (operator of the main commercial airport in Bulgaria - Sofia Airport) on the preparation of several agreements on the FIDIC Terms, including an engineering and construction contract (Yellow FIDIC, 1999), a construction contract (Red FIDIC, 1999) for the expansion of the open parking area of the Sofia Airport and refurbishment of the existing covered parking, and, additionally, on a supplementary contract for construction supervision services by a construction consultant.
  • Advised Hercesa Bulgaria EOOD in relation to entering into a complex out-of-court settlement agreement concerning the land bank of the client (amounting to 21 500 sq.m.) with an entity claiming it has property rights over the properties, including review and analyses of all the title and zoning documents of the properties owned by the client, proactively leading negotiations with the third parties, drafting a settlement agreement between the parties, assisting with the execution of the said agreement and its registration with the respective registries.
  • Advised a representative of an international group of shipping companies on the European and Bulgarian legal aspects of the relevant international sanctions regulations.
