Kaloyan Krumov is a Partner at DGKV, with a core focus on the firm’s Real Estate & Construction and Banking & Finance practices. He advises Bulgarian and multinational corporates, sponsors, investors and lenders on the full lifecycle of real estate and infrastructure assets, combining deep expertise in development and construction risk allocation with a strong track record in structured financing and cross-border transactions.
Kaloyan regularly supports clients on complex mandates involving project and acquisition finance, refinancings, security and intercreditor arrangements, as well as strategic investments, joint ventures and M&A-driven acquisitions and disposals in real estate, infrastructure and industrial space. He is particularly experienced in capital-intensive developments requiring coordinated delivery across land, permitting, construction contracting and financing workstreams.
A significant part of Kaloyan’s practice involves acting for leading domestic and international lenders, including as Bulgarian local counsel on cross-border transactions governed by English law and other major international frameworks. He is known for pragmatic, commercially focused advice and effective risk management.
Recent representative projects include:
- Advising the syndicate of lenders — EBRD, Black Sea Trade and Development Bank, OTP Bank, NLB Bank, UniCredit, and Kommunalkredit, in connection with a €315 million HoldCo financing for Renalfa IPP, a leading regional renewables platform.
- Advising UniCredit Bulbank in relation to the project financing of 58MWh BESS project extension of the existing 112.5MW solar photovoltaic power plant near Ruse, Bulgaria, extended to Tsenovo Solar Plant OOD.
- Advising Hercesa International on its EUR 10+ million greenfield investment in Sofia for a major residential development project in Sofia.
- Advising the American University in Bulgaria in relation to the development of new student housing at the American University in Bulgaria.
- Assisting Equinix (EMEA) B.V. with the preparation of a set of construction contracts and with its participation in a tender process, as well as with negotiations for the appointment of contractors for the development of a data centre in Bulgaria.
- Advising a syndicate of four Bulgarian lenders and UniCredit Bulbank AD in its capacity as agent and arranger on a EUR 50 million revolving credit facility to a Bulgarian producer of copper materials.
- Advising IFC on the restructuring of a long-term project financing to a leading steel manufacturer in Bulgaria.
- Advising Woodward Bulgaria EOOD – the Bulgarian subsidiary of a global designer, manufacturer, and service provider of aerospace and industrial equipment – on the lease of industrial space for the expansion of its manufacturing capacity in Bulgaria.
